Solar Start Up Could Bring Hundreds of Jobs

A fledgling solar battery maker is taking a close look at Ohio for a major manufacturing operation after receiving a state income tax incentive this week, the Toledo Blade reports.

Perrysburg-based BASN Enterprises Ltd. has been cleared for a 50 percent tax credit valued at up to $650,000 in return for a proposed $148.6 million project that could create 446 jobs in the coming years. The company says it's looking at two buildings on the north side of Findlay but told the Blade it doesn't have any financing in place, the paper reported.

Should the project get up and running, the operation could add $8 million in payroll to that region's economy.
