Solar energy has been termed in many parts of the world as an effective renewable alternative form of energy.
This is true in countries where the national grid supplies homes and offices with the electricity they need. Many Ugandans have in recent years faced frequent power outages that have not only affected daily life but have hugely impacted on business and as a result increased the cost of production of goods and services.
This has made many of them for other sources of energy like thermal generators which are not only hazardous because of the fumes they emit but are also costly in terms of maintenance as fuel costs keep rising.
